From Changi International Airport by halves
21 June 2007Okay, this post is winging its way from Changi International Airport in Singapore, when they have free laptop stations and free internet. Oddly enough, the much advertised free Wi-fi is free only if you have an account with one of the ISPs around here. So I’m kind of glad I nicked an ethernet cable from work.
The lesser of the two flights is now out the way, which is good, but I’m now very tired, which might be a good thing as I might sleep a bit on the second leg. I’m half way though my 6 hour wait here as well, having mainly just walked around the massive terminals.
Not really a lot else to report. I’m still alive, and seemed to have remembered everything I need.

I know…
12 May 2007This is perhaps the fourth iteration of blogging software on this website (custom code/MT/WP and now WP again). The number of starts and stops with what I say is much higher. I suspect this iteration won’t be much different, but I guess I’ll have to find out.
For those that are curious, I made the first steps in the resurrection of the blog back at the start of January when I reinstalled WP on this site. last night I ended up reinstalling most of it again in the process of trying to get it to work with a theme that needed the latest version, that theme didn’t quite seem to work, and this one is an alternative that looks a little bit similar. Coincidentally (moreorless), Heq was reinstalling his blog as well.
Anyhow for me the motivation to post often comes from happenings around the web, usually things I read when I should be working… and in that respect this post is no different.
In this case it was a mefi link to a list of Sad Songs, which got me thinking about the music I listen to, and why I do… (including a fairly large number of sad songs). It also sent me on a bit of a mad trawl around wikipedia, which is something I do can waste a lot of time doing these days. The scarier fact is that I haven’t really changed the music I listen to much in the last 5 or so years, although in the last year or so I have been watching a bit more music on TV than I used to.
So, my hypothetical reader, what is your list of sad songs?
