My Kingdom for a blog...

Well it seems that I should post something before the masses(?) get more fed up with the lack of posting and thus stop reading this log all together.

If a blog is posted on a site and no-one reads it does it actually exist?

I could recap what i've been doing for the month or so, but it's not been a particular exciting month, consisting of mostly just reading, gaming, sleeping, coughing and working in some other order.

Thus on with the linking...

Firstly, what I've been playing recently (ie this week) is the trial version of Rise of Nations which is pretty much AoE meets Civilisation [a review on K5]. It's pretty cool, and you can actually get an idea of the full gameplay.

Also.. I haven't checked it out, but for all those Sierra fans out there, someone has created a Space Quest 0. Not sure how good it is, but it might be worth a look.

In the weekend I read the latest Harry Potter. While I'd hesitate to call it anything special, (ie. it reads like a book written for 13 year olds with a long attention span) it was still somewhat enjoyable. The article Harry Potter and the Meaning of Life is an interesting comment on Potter-mania.

Obligatory mention: The Baroque Cycle website is up. It's the site for the next Neal Stephenson book Quicksilver (hence why it's an obligatory) is up. The article on how Todd Garisson cracked the Real Character message displayed on the splash screen is a good read, if it's not still /.'d.

Moving into the depths of my browsing history, there's some Strange Little Stories for a Tori Amos album by Neil Gaiman. Great Idea.

Finally, a note about Mozilla. Mozilla Firebird is l33t. One feature which I just started using although it's been in Moz for ages is the custom keywords feature. The neat thing about it (al least in Firebird) is that you can use all sorts of characters for the keyword. Thus I've got /. bookmarked to go to slashdot and ? bookmarked to do a Google search.

Right, that's it for now, enjoy.
